Meet Alana, our new intern! Alana is a law student from the Netherlands and she is starting her internship with us today.
My name is Alana and I am a 21 year old law student at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. I also have my bachelors degree in criminology. I am very proud to announce that I will be an intern at this wonderful foundation, starting the fifteenth of March!
I first heard about the Clinton Young Foundation an Clinton’s case in 2019 when Merel Pontier gave a guest lecture at the university I go to. His story and the injustices that have occurred in his case, have been on my mind ever since. The idea that I am know going to help him in every way that is asked of me, really excites and motivates me.
Criminal law is something I feel very passionate about. I believe the death penalty is never right, how cruel someone’s actions may be. The judicial system is not and cannot be perfect. Too many people are wrongfully convicted and therefor sentencing someone to death should, in my opinion, never be an option. My goal is to become a criminal defense lawyer and hopefully someday a criminal court judge.
I want to help Clinton and this foundation to the best of my abilities and will try to do so. Hopefully I will be able to help others in the future as well.
